Shipping Advisory Notice: Impact of Earthquake in La Guaira and POD Adjustment Recommendation In light of the recent earthquake in La Guaira, local infrastructure and port operations may be affected to varying degrees. To ensure safer and more stable transportation, the following guidance is issued regarding bookings with La Guaira as the Port of Discharge (POD): 1. Booking Recommendation Adjustment For new bookings with La Guaira as POD, it is recommended to prioritize rebooking to an alternative port, Puerto Cabello, in order to reduce risks of delay or disruption caused by force majeure events. 2. Potential Port Discharge Adjustment Risk If customers insist on maintaining La Guaira as the POD, please be advised that: After vessel departure, due to port conditions or safety assessments under force majeure circumstances Cargo may be temporarily discharged or diverted to Puerto Cabello Actual operations shall be subject to the latest instructions from the shipping line and local port authorities 3. Roll-over / Cancellation Requirement and Liability Notice If customers cannot accept the potential temporary change of discharge port mentioned above, they must arrange cargo cancellation or booking amendment prior to vessel departure. [2026 New Policy] Russia Mandates SPOT System: QR Code Required for Truck Freight from Kazakhstan
Russia has officially launched the Cargo Expected Confirmation System (СПОТ/SPOT) effective June 1, 2026, imposing new regulatory requirements on goods imported by road transport from Eurasian Economic Union member states (including Kazakhstan). For cargo entering Russia by road from Kazakhstan, the consignee is required to either: (1) submit an advance declaration at the place of customs clearance to obtain a QR code, or (2) pay a security deposit to customs to obtain a QR code. In order to prevent delays in customs clearance, the relevant documentation must be correctly completed.

Iran Boosts Land Trade via Multiple Moves; China-Iran Railway Serves as Core Support
The frequency of Xi’an–Tehran freight trains has doubled, rising from one departure per week to one every 3–4 days. All freight capacity for May is fully booked, with further capacity expansion planned for June. Departing from Xi’an, the trains exit China via Alashankou, traverse Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, enter Iran through the Sarakhs border checkpoint, and terminate at Aplin Dry Port in Tehran. The total route length is approximately 10,400 kilometers with a transit time of around 18 days, more than twice as fast as sea freight which takes about 40 days. The trains mainly carry urgently needed goods for Iran, including auto parts, generator sets, electronic products, industrial raw materials and consumer goods. Each train can haul 40 to 50 container carriages, equivalent to about 50 forty-foot standard containers. Driven by surging market demand, the freight rate for forty-foot containers has increased by around 40%. For urgently needed goods, high value-added products, and foreign trade orders that are sensitive to timing, the Xi’an – Tehran freight train has become a preferred choice. Understanding the route details and market changes helps enterprises plan logistics solutions more reasonably, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
